Pregnant and lifting other children?
I just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant! I also have a very lazy 11 month old
He just learned to crawl (not very well) and he doesn’t walk yet so I’m always picking him up and carrying him. He weights about 22 lbs and in the next 9 months he’s going to be even heavier! What did everyone do about this situation? Does it pose a harm to pregnancy?
As long as your pregnancy is normal and healthy, there’s no reason why you can’t do some typical every day lifting. Heck, I worked in a nursing home and lifted grown men/women every single day for a living during my first and second pregnancies. If your body is use to it, it doesn’t cause any additional stress.
On a side note, our daughter was 5 months when we found out we were pregnant with out third child. Obviously, she was carried quite often during my pregnancy. She also didn’t learn to walk until nearly 16 months, so there was a lot of lifting and shifting and moving her around when I was VERY pregnant. Because my body was use to it, it was all good. Just talk to your doctor about it. If at any point s/he feels like its no longer safe for you to do it, they’ll let you know.
